Kintsugi-Inspired Workshop

Inspired by the Japanese Kintsugi technique, repair your favorite ceramic piece with gold, no experience needed.

About the Workshop

Kintsugi is a centuries old Japanese method of repairing ceramics, where the cracks are deliberately highlighted with gold. Instead of hiding flaws, it makes an object's history visible. The method is rooted in the philosophy of Wabi Sabi, a wonderful contrast to perfectionism, consumerism and speed.

This workshop is inspired by the traditional technique. An authentic Kintsugi repair takes several weeks to months from the first repair to the finished gilding. We'll introduce you to the idea and the key steps of the craft, and you'll leave with a piece gilded in the spirit of Kintsugi.

  • Selecting & Rejoining: You choose your ceramic piece and put the individual parts back together
